Hurricane Preparedness: Are We Prepared?

Every year, an average of six storms turn into hurricanes around the world and an average of three of those reach a minimum classification of category three. This year, Hawai’i came face-to-face with the first major hurricane on route for Hawai’i since Hurricane Iselle made landfall on Big Island in 2014 — Hurricane Lane. Hurricane Lane came and went, it’s edges causing heavy rainfall for Big Island and Maui and downgrading into a tropical storm before it could make landfall on O’ahu. However, the hurricane season is not over until Nov. 30 meaning Hawai’i is still at risk of coming into contact with another hurricane. So the question now is, how prepared are you?
