Maya Hirano and Danielle Murphy

Whether you’re feverishly looking for a new show to binge or you simply have too much time on your hands, Netflix is the place to find the perfect piece of entertainment. Not sure where to start? Here are some suggestions.

Maya Hirano:

#1) Sherlock

Rating: ★★★★★

Calling all puzzle lovers! In this contemporary spin of the famous detective, the eccentric and fascinating Sherlock Holmes teams up with war veteran Dr. John Watson to solve only the most mysterious of crimes. Living together in a flat on Baker Street, they conquer master criminals, sinister plots and the daunting challenge of friendship. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson, this delightful television series will keep you at the edge of your seat.

#2) Parks and Recreation

Rating: ★★★★★

If you usually go for a more cheerful, less dramatic vibe, Parks and Recreation is more your speed. This lighthearted sitcom features Leslie Knope: an overzealous, thoughtful and hardworking government employee who wants the best for the parks and the people of Pawnee, Indiana. Together with her government-loathing boss Ron Swanson, best friend Ann Perkins and underachieving but unique coworkers, she pushes herself and the laws to their limits in endless

attempts to make her town a better place.

#3) Imposters

Rating: ★★★★☆

This show’s got it all — comedy, mystery, romance, secrets and most importantly, con artists! When innocent Ezra Bloom gets swindled by his wife, a professional con artist whose job is to seduce, marry, rob and flee, he goes on a desperate search only to find that getting involved would make his situation much more sticky than it seemed. Riddled with lies, betrayal and deceit, this two-season show is perfect for anyone looking for a fun watch.

Danielle Murphy:

Locke and Key

This is a great show if you are looking for something that will  keep you guessing and a touch of mystery and action. This winding story follows the lives of the Lockes. After the tragic murder of Rendell Locke, Nina Locke decides to move her family of four out of their Seattle home to Key House in  Matheson, Massachusetts, where Rendell grew up. Nina is searching for answers, while six-year-old Bodie is finding magical keys that do special things. He encounters Echo, a lady in the well, who tells him about the keys. Bodie and his siblings Kinsey and Tyler have to protect the keys. I won’t give any more away, but I highly recommend this show.

Stranger Things

When Will Byers goes missing, the whole town of Hawkins, Indiana turns upside down. His mother, Joyce, his brother, Jonathan, and his friends, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas, are searching for him along with the police. One thing after another leads to supernatural findings and the appearance of a girl with a shaved head obsessed with Eggos. Her name is Eleven, and she is the key to getting Will back. That’s all I’ll say, but there is a lot more to the story, so if you’re one of the few people who haven’t already watched Stranger Things, feel free to do so during this time. This show does its part in giving you the chills and leaving you on cliffhangers. If you are easily scared, this show may not be for you.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I’m sure almost everyone has seen the Avengers movies, and remembers Agent Phil Coulson. This show is like an extra branch of the Marvel universe. Agent Coulson puts together a team of top S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to look into bizarre threats. Some have powers and some are just normal people with one job to do: protect the world from things only they can fight. Sounds cliche, but it’s actually a very good show, in my opinion, and worth the watch. Plus, it has six seasons, so it should last you at least a week, considering the circumstances.
